About Niwa

Growing up as a CBC (Canadian-born Chinese), the aroma of ripe lychees, refreshing taste of tangerines, and subtle sweetness of guavas filled my childhood. These fruits were a hallmark at my family gatherings, where stories, laughter, and memories were made around the kitchen table.

As I grew older, partying with friends became a cornerstone of my life, bringing with them the culture of drinking. While I enjoyed the social aspect, I found myself losing touch with the excitement of alcohol and feeling increasingly distant from my cultural heritage.

But as someone who chose not to drink, I often struggled to find non-alcoholic alternatives that were truly satisfying. The options available lacked flavor and uniqueness, making me feel out of place at social events.

This led to feelings of judgement, which only deepened my desire for something more meaningful. This longing inspired the creation of Niwa, blending the essence of my upbringing with the dedication to crafting exceptional flavors. It’s a brand that reminds me of the purity of socialization – one that unconditionally honors genuine human connection.

If you, like me, believe that meaningful connections are built through insightful conversations and unforgettable memories – without the need for alcohol – then Niwa is for you. It’s my way of sharing this belief with the world.

So, I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Whether you’re simply looking for a new, unique drink that tastes great, discovering or rediscovering the flavors of your own traditions, or most importantly, seeking a more meaningful way to connect, Niwa is here to help you savor the moments that truly matter.

Christen
